Our Approach
Good Morning Africa (GMA) understands that Africa's problems will not get solved over night. (After all, the success of today's Asian Tigers occurred over many decades). But it has been demonstrated that any successful solution must be African/domestic in origin. To this end, GMA believes in supporting socially-responsible African entrepreneurs to ensure that "African solutions" are the basis for solving Africa's problems. By using market oriented policies and an array of existing low- or no-cost resources, Africa will be able to secure its own economic self-sufficiency and political stability.
GMA's approach is relatively specific to the country we operate in; however some of our procedures are the same. GMA first begins by implementing a multi-step process. This process includes partnering with local private and public organizations in order to mobilize potential candidates to receive our complete array of services.
Together, GMA and our local partners narrow down the pool of applicants in order to pick those entrepreneurs that fit our rigorous criteria. After an intense interview process and on-site inspection, GMA selects the final candidates which will go on to receive our services.
GMA also surveys existing resources in the country so as not to duplicate the work of other organizations. Furthermore, GMA is not interested in competing, hindering, or monopolizing the efforts of these organizations.
GMA adds value by strengthening existing networks and by bridging the gaps where resources are scarce.
GMA obtains its services by leveraging the largely untapped business and public policy communities in non-African countries. GMA solicits business leaders, policy analysts, technical specialists, think tanks, Venture Capital fund managers, and trade associations to either:
- donate a portion of their time to GMA's mentor network and technical advisor program, or
- create networking opportunities for product development, market knowledge dissemination, or capital fundraising.
GMA also recruits, matches, and sends top MBA, MPP/MPA, and PhD students to work with our clients in Africa on a challenging, 3 month project that combines theoretical knowledge with international experience.
And finally, GMA builds networks of professional support and market partnership by connecting African entrepreneurs in similar industries with each other and with their non-African counterparts.
The only limitation on the capacity of these affiliations depends upon the entrepreneurs themselves, but the possibility for growth from our services and these ventures is limitless.
